Backstory

In the Country of Wind, far out in the desert, there lived a boy and his grandfather. Together they lived in a small clay hut, enjoying their simple lives near the safety of Sunagakure; the village hidden in the sand. Always it had been that way, so far as the boy could remember. Curious as most children are, the young boy would often ask questions about the mysterious and cunning ninja who lived in Sunagakure.

The old man would delight his grandson with tales of great heroes long past, ninja who had lived and grown in the hidden village. From a very young age the idea of joining the shinobi of the village enthralled him. Daily he would conduct his chores, carrying heavy buckets of water from the small oasis over the hot sand back to their home. But always his mind was in the clouds, living out a fantasy he could never suppress.

Late one night, as they ate supper under the moonlight, the boy gathered his courage and posed an important question to his grandfather; "Ojiisan", he spoke softly, though with resolve, "I want to become a ninja." The grandfather knew this day would come, and so he could only smile. The old man poured his sake into a stone bowl, and took from it a careful sip as the cool desert wind brushed past. "Then I will train you, and when you are ready I will send you to the ninja academy." That was the first step on his unusual journey to becoming a legend.

Day after day, the boy trained until his body could take no more. Under the guidance of his grandfather (who had once been a soldier long ago), he learned martial discipline and techniques by battering a wooden dummy until his hands and feet would become bloody and bruised. At night, his grandfather would wrap his wounds in cloth and teach him all he could about basic combat strategy. When the morning came, they would repeat this ritual until the boy's 10th birthday, when something special happened.

When the boy turned the age of ten, he was ready to enlist into the ninja academy. "This is the day, Dorinku", spoke the old man with a swelling heart, "I am sending you to the academy. Continue to work hard and you will make a fine shinobi". The boy could not hide his excitement, but it was plain to see he was uneasy at parting this life for another.

The grandfather was not worried for the boy, for he knew a secret. Before Dorinku departed, he was given a gift; a drinking gourd with a dulled red sash. "This is your birthday present, it is special, like you. I know you do not understand, but when your way of the ninja is in peril, drink from this a single drop and you will prevail."

The boy thought the gift to be strange, but was thankful just the same. With a few loops and a tug, the gourd was strung to his belt and ready for the journey; as was its keeper. A trail of footprints dipped into the sand behind him as he made way to the village of shinobi, and the wind made sure to erase each one in kind. Dorinku did not look back as he walked, for there was only one way to go now. "Today I set out to become a ninja, lets see what I can do."

Suiken (Drunken Fist Style)

Suiken is a unique and unusual style of combat. It cannot be learned, nor can it be taught, or honed and refined through training and practice. Drunken Fist fighters are not simply drunk, they become human powerhouses who'll strike and dodge unpredictably, without inhibitions; an explosive fury without any second thoughts about their actions.

Drunken Body:
One who frequently enters and practices the art of Suiken has a robust body, capable of taking on the hardships their body must endure to assume the drunken fist style.
+20 hp

Specialized Toolbag Item Sake - 3x (Max of 3)
Sake - Gets the shinobi drunk enough to enter the style. Free action on his turn to drink.

Drunken State
Description: After consuming alcohol, a suiken shinobi enters a drunken state that allows them to take on the full effect of their abilities. They become an entirely different fighter; spry, unpredictable, and powerful in their own right.
Level 15: +2 to attack rolls, +3 to defense, +1d6 dmg to tai/ken
Level 25: +3 to attack rolls +4 to defense, +1d8 dmg to tai/ken
Level 35: +4 to attack rolls, +5 to defense, +1d10 dmg to tai/ken

Dulled Pain
Description: The nervous system fails to fully register set amounts of pain, effectively numbing the impact of each blow received. Pain and inhibitions aside, the will of the suiken shinobi is particularly difficult to suppress.
Level 15: 2 dr (Applies to genjutsu), +2 vs. physical stuns
Level 25: 4 dr (Applies to genjutsu), +3 vs. physical stuns
Level 35: 6 dr (Applies to genjutsu), +4 vs. physical stuns

Metabolize Alcohol (3x per fight):
Description: Sake and other sources of alcohol carry a high energy potential. Once it is consumed, the trained suiken shinobi can convert the energy potential of any alcohol in their system to bolster their chakra, at the expense of sobering up.
Dice: Free action exchange drunk effect to restore 10 cp. Remains out of drunkenness until he drinks more sake.

Drunken Fist Stance(Suiken):
By using fluid, natural thinking and reflexes, the drunken shinobi enters an intuitive trance, reacting and countering his opponents maneuvers more easily. The drunken fist style is highly unpredictable and unorthodox, granting the user incredible evasive actions.
Level 15:
5 cp, 2 to maintain a round
8 cp, free counter to melee attack, 3 round cooldown
Upon being attacked by a physical attack (Tai/Kin/Nin/Tool/etc) the attacker rolls a 1d8, on a 8 to 8 the attack fails.


Level 25:
4 cp, 1 a round to maintain
8 cp, free counter to melee attack, 2 round cooldown
Upon being attacked by a physical attack (Tai/Kin/Nin/Tool/etc) the attacker rolls a 1d8, on a 7 to 8 the attack fails.

Level 35:
3 cp, 1 a round to maintain
8 cp, free counter to melee attack, 1 round cooldown
Upon being attacked by a physical attack (Tai/Kin/Nin/Tool/etc) the attacker rolls a 1d8, on a 6 to 8 the attack fails.

Special Sake:
Chakra Release Liquor (1x per fight, may purchase +1 special sake for 20 tokens, raising it to 2x per fight)
Description: The ace in the hole for any suiken shinobi, this rare and potent liquor is a kept as a closely guarded secret and used only as a last resort. It has the capability of totally freeing the drunken masters mind and body, allowing them to even release the eight gates should they wish. In addition to the normal cellular degradation of opening gates, the drunken master will suffer from a debilitating hangover that wracks their mind and body after the effect has run its course.

For 1d6 rounds the Shinobi gains access to each gate (Overrides Gate duration rules). At the end of the duration he suffers a serious hang over. The hangover lasts for the same amount of time that his Special sake Drunken state lasted. These negatives override the normal Gate negatives, however the much shorter duration makes up for it. The negatives stack if he chooses to drink the special sake again.

(25 Tokens per Gate)
Level 15: Gates 1-2. Hangover -2 to all rolls
Level 25: Gates 3-4. Hanover -3 to all rolls
Level 35: Gates 5-6. Hangover -4 to all rolls
Level 40: Gates 7- Hangover -5 to all rolls
Level 40: Gates 8-Death

(This is his 'ace in the hole' and rarely used technique)

Drunken Fist Taijutsu (Custom Jutsu):
Description: After spending time in a the drunken state, the suiken shinobi will come to possess a series of taijutsu maneuvers as their natural talents manifest. These are learned intuitively over time as part of their natural ability.
level 15: Create 2 D-Rank, 2 C-Rank, Drunken Taijutsu (Free)
level 25: Create 1 C-Rank, 3 B-Rank, Drunken Taijutsu (Free)
Level 35: Create 2 A-Rank, 1 S-Rank, Drunken Taijutsu (Free)
