Kisame is just a regular genin with a talent for traps. While usually skipping school to sleep in a random tree or talking his way out of training or fights, he actually is rather intelligent. Overly lazy and tactical, he seems to care little for the other clans or even would be "loudmouths" as he calls ninjas trying to make a name for themselves. Being part of the Nara clan, though, it's hard to imagine him to be anything short of what they hold to.

He showed talents of trap working at an early age. Often times setting up traps to keep siblings or fellow clansman out of his room. Eventually adapting them to put them to sleep when he learned about it in the rare days he was in the academy. He didn't get the name "Trapper" till he outsmarted his father using various traps to be left alone to take a nap.
.:: ACADEMY ::.
During the Academy days, he wasn't popular with the teachers. Often skipping or sleeping in class. While he showed he knew the material on tests, he would rarely do homework. He passed the final exam to become a Genin with relative ease.
Through countless lazy hours of napping, and watching his traps be released on unsuspecting clan members trying to get him to go to school, an idea comes to form. While utilizing what little Kisame learned from watching his parents use the clan jutsu's to train new genin's of the Nara clan, he was able to hide, for a short time various items. From tags to his cousins favorite toys. Now that he, himself, is a genin, he figured it can be put to more . . . useful purposes.

His father placed him in a squad where he thought his talents with traps and strategy was most useful. His first mission was a C ranked mission. He aided a group of fellow Genin to fight and kill three fish/squid. . . thingy's. And helped rescue a cat from being stuck on a monument next to the Ramen shop when he got home. He led one mission, but over all, he was a strategic advisor for the team. With various ideas, written in his journal, he guards it rather well.
During a solo C ranked mission, he gained a small kit (baby fox.) Originally, Kisame was going to talk to his parents about keeping the Kit, but the little thing escaped the Inuzukas compound, that the Nara clan finally said let him keep it. His mother wanted to name the kit after various flowers but he decided to name it Kurama. Ichirou's suggestion on the name.

Basic Transformation Jutsu The most basic, yet one of the most important techs a Genin can master. Allowing them to mimic animals, plants, and even inanimate objects like weapons. This gives this technique an abundance of uses. The transformation of a skilled Shinobi will be exactly like the genuine article, so it will be impossible to tell the two apart. On the other hand, a transformation performed by an inexperienced person will have obvious discrepancies. It will be impossible to deceive anyone with it. Since it requires constant Chakra to sustain it while the Genin mentally maintains it often takes time to master. Basic Clone Jutsu Using the blind spots of most people, or perhaps the oversights of vision, the user makes a number of symbols, and upon releasing the Chakra, the user makes another 'vision' of themselves, an almost cursory illusion that lands itself in the blind spot, much akin to the heat shimmers, but in that small peripheral, the enemy cannot tell the fake from the real, so long as it remains in that spot. Type: Elementless Genjutsu Rank: D Rank Cost: 2CP Effect: A targeted enemy receives -1 Universal rolls vs the user for 1 round. Note: Ineffective against Hyuuga Byakugan, Chakra Sight, or most forms of Chakra Detection.
