Akane let out a small sigh, looking at the scroll she borrowed from her father. It displayed long and boring descriptions of internal chakra movements that focused on manipulating the mind of an opponent. In Short, Genjutsu. She knew that her father was a large name in the field of genjutsu, but these descriptions where to much. It wasn't that she couldn't understand it, it was just such a pain to read through the techniques and study them by herself. It would be so much easier if she were born into the Uchiha bloodline and could just copy techniques.
She sighed as she stood up rolling up the scroll while walking out of the village to a nearby training area. About half a mile into the forest she stopped. While it would be much easier to practice these genjutsu on a living target, it was to much of a pain to go out and find someone who would volunteer themselves to these techniques. She found a tree and tied the scroll to it, letting it unravel so she could stand while reading the scroll. The method of deployment was simple, most of it was a simple chakra shock towards the enemies nervous system, either sending their attack in a different direction or directly causing them pain through their nervous system.
The most basic genjutsu on the scroll, "Misdirection" was the basis on where she started. It only required a single seal, and it could be done at anytime before actually sending the jutsu off towards the target. Because of this a Shinobi could use the jutsu and later with a single motion affect their target. Akane began to study the theory behind it. While she thought it was a pain once she began training she started to focus, ignoring sounds and disturbances around her. One she read through the concept she began to visualize the technique and she ran through the handseal until it became easy to do it quickly.
After she felt the chakra charged into the theorized example, she made a motion, imagining an enemy charging towards her, the chakra surging out then dissipating as it hit nothing.
Next was Konoha's signature technique that founded the rest of the "standardized" genjutsu. "Leaf Burial" It was nothing more than a simple shock to the nervous system while influencing the optical nerves to show them an hallucination of a leaf storm slowly burying them. The theory was simple, and the handseal was quick and non-invasive. It could be completed stealthily. Additionally she felt that as long as she had the right mental image as she sent the jutsu away she could effect the force of the genjutsu on the target.
After about half an hour of experimenting she knew she had the jutsu under control and turned to read off the last Jutsu. "Hell Viewing Technique" It was much more complicated that the previous and would probably take her more time to learn. As the son was waning she quickly began to read through the jutsu, learning the basic theory and the hand seals. As she swirled the chakra around she just couldn't get the hang of it, maybe succeeding once out of every three attempts. A few more attempts would have to be made, but seeing as it was getting dark Akane packed up the scroll, and left for home with a sigh.
