Arashi Falconer (Arashi Clan upgrade)
The world knows the Arashi Clan as master swordsman who use Wind jutsu without peer, and this is true-but not all Arashi take up the blade. Among the clan, a rare select few are born with an inborn gift known as the Hane-go. These Featherspeakers can talk to the many predatory birds the Arashi clan keeps in their aerie and understand them-but more than that, the birds and the Featherspeaker share an innate bond. The Arashi see this as a sign, as only one Featherspeaker is born every generation, and the nature of the gift is kept secret-any clan members who share the secret are excommunicated. Years of studying has brought them no clues as to when a Featherspeaker will be born. The Arashi call those born with the gift Falconers and they are heralded as royalty within their clan.
The birds understand the air far better than any human can-they have to, it is part of their nature. The Arashi Falconers impart their wisdom of the winds from their companions to their clan, and as part of that exchange, the Falconers become more bird-like. Some learn to take the the skies, others begin to take on more birdlike features, and still others wear feathered garb to show the connection. The one thing they have in common is a personal companion that stays with them from the moment they first speak to their dying breath-and as the legends say, even beyond that.
