Character History

----Kikkawa comes from a port village in the Country of Lightning. This
village is located in the North-West region of the country, making it
the main port from Country of Lightning and the Country of Earth. Being
the main port village was good for the economy of the village, however,
it also had a dark side. The village had its more then fair share of
thieves and thugs and sometimes the occasional pirate crew would find
their way to this village trying to gain a big haul.
----The Taiki
family normally never traveled far from it. The reason behind this was
that the Taiki found themselves feeling loyal and responsible for the
defense of the port and this trait turned into a tradition of each
Taiki.
----The Taiki trained in their own Sword-style called the
Tomiyo-Ryu, a style which focuses on three aspects of battle;
Defensive;Counter;Endurance. Being a mainly defensive style it was only
natural for it to be used to defend the port. This style can't be taught
to just anyone as it requires extremely keen eyes that need to be
trained day in and day out over the years to see the slightest movements
their opponent makes. Locals believe that the Taiki possess a Dojutsu
similar to the Hyuuga Clan however this is False and is only many...
many years of Training their eyes to see enemy's slightest movements to
anticipate their next move.

----The Tomiyo-Ryu is not a cookie
cutter style that every student of the style uses the same techniques.
Teachers only teach the basics then the students excel on themselves
creating there own techniques that follow the the basics that are
taught.

----Kikkawa was born into a baptism of training, even as a
baby his mother would lightly slap at different parts of his body, this
would seem cruel but it was tradition in the Taiki family as it was the
first step into becoming a student in the family sword-style. After
many years the locals have become familiar with this and see it as a way
to spot members and newborns of the family.
----As a small child
Kikkawa was given a boken to train with. However in this part of
Kikkawa's life he would come home from school and his parents would
force him in training his eyes to become more keen and understand how
essential his eyes are for survival. Though at times he would sneak away
from his training and go out and play with his school friends but would
always have to leave before any of the other kids did to try to get
back before it was noticed he was gone. Little to Kikkawa's knowledge,
his parents always knew that he would go out, it was part of the
training... a game of “tag” relies very much on the eyes and a game of
“catch” requires hand-eye coordination.
----At the age of of 14,
Kikkawa put all of his time into studying the Tomiyo-Ryu style to become
a pupil of one of the most renowned users of the style. His master was
such a genius of the Tomiyo-Ryu Style that he incorporated two swords
instead of one in his technique. Finding him to be a role model, Kikkawa
had always tried to learn the way of the Double Tomiyo-Ryu but was very
clumsy. He would still continue to try even though his master finds his
clumsiness humorous and would always tell him, "To learn the double
Tomiyo-Ryu style, you must first completely understand the single
Tomiyo-Ryu style." and thus has always kept a second blade on him.
----The
next year Kikkawa shocked his entire family by not following tradition
and expressed his interest in joining the Shinobi force and fight to
protect their way of life. After many arguments with each and every
member of the family, he was finally given their blessing and found
himself in Kumogakure with enough money to buy an apartment and live on
his own.
----He worked at the local markets while he went to the
Academy to become a cloud shinobi after school everyday and was often
teased about his age, for how he was much older then the others. However
this was the path he wanted to take. Everyday he would wake up early
and make himself something quick to eat, leave his two family swords
behind at home, make his way into the market to where he worked to see
if he could do anything for them before he had to take off to the
Academy. Kikkawa advanced through the classes very quickly having
already learned much that has been taught... but basic jutsu classes are
what gave him the most trouble as he did not learn any as when he was
younger. Eventually though Kikkawa had passed the required classes.
----At
the age of 16, Kikkawa finished the academy with high marks in all
subjects except with Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, where he got just right
below average. Now a Genin of Kumogakure, he is optimistic in what the
future holds for him.
