Creating and Aging your Character: Lifetime System

Time

On many servers throughout the course of history, the question of 'Time' has been an interesting one. It has always been difficult to balance or adjust the flow of time in a way that it felt immersive to the players without feeling too stagnant or too rushed. Because there is no surefire formula for exactly how fast time will pass, the flow of time here on Great Shinobi War will be dynamic - that is, while we will keep to a general timeline trend as far as the passage of time, time will progress its fastest when there is the least going on, and will progress its slowest in the middle of large event/story arcs. It is believed that, in this manner, players will be able to get a sense of how fast time is progressing without feeling like their roleplay is being rushed, or that the world is moving too fast or too slow around them, without their control
There are a few parts to the 'Lifetime' system, and they will be described here.
The year is representative of the year that we are in. Because of the general average of players creating characters after the transition into the Shinobi epoch, the following formula will help you to determine your character's birthyear. It is heavily encouraged that all players change their biographies to reflect their character's birthyear somewhere on their post. In doing so, it will be much easier to track the passage of time and determine your character's current age without requiring constant updates or forceful changes from the DM Staff.

Formula determining year of birth wrote:: 37 - Character's Desired Age = Character's year of birth
[E.G. 37 - 16 = SH 21. A 16 year-old character would have been born in SH 21.]
[E.G. 37 - 12 = SH 25. A 12 year-old character would have been born in SH 25.]
[E.G. 37 - 21 = SH 16. A 21 year-old character would have been born in SH 16.]
This formula will change as years pass, and this post will be updated as time passes.
