Shinjitsu no rirīsu - Honshitsu Release
(Release of the truth – True Nature/Essence Release)

There is no doubt that this world has many elements, from the base foundations to the millions of combinations within the world. It can be said that no matter the combination, there is some kind of chakra or bloodline that can control or produce its effects. With that said, it is rare to even see such a thing, as most of the combinations of elements are hidden throughout the world, and the world is large. What most don’t understand is that every object in the world, from the metal people carry, to the very food people eat, could be considered a combination of some kind with elements and jutsu. Furthermore, every single object can be subjected to these combinations and turns into a weapon or abandon using chakra and signs.

The very art of the bloodline Honshitsu, or True Nature, is to make every single object around the practitioner a weapon or a boon in some way. This abuses the very fabric of objects and their ability to harness or be effected by chakra. The property that allows chakra to imbue with an objects essentially allows the Honshitsu user to directly extract the very nature of the material and bend it at will. In example, if given a bunch of herbs, the artist could take out the medical properties of the herbs directly and infuse the “essence” into water, creating an extremely powerful medicine without having to go through the preparation for the herbs. This is the basic form of Honshitu manipulation, and can be taken further to pull the essence of poisons or ‘sharpness’ of an object, and direct that pure form into harm on a target.

The three elements that make up the trifecta of the Honshitsu all play a major part in the learning and understanding on how the essence of objects is taken and manipulated. Water is needed as the primary to train and give the user the sense of flow and understanding on how essence is, infact, fluid. This makes the manipulation of water extremely important, to be fluid and smoothe, and flow into objects with your chakra. Earth exists to give the artist the understanding on how objects can be tapped into and manipulated, and earth produces the most difficult, sturdy objects to learn that manipulation and chakra flow. Lastly, Yang provides the manipulation of non-physical objects for more than just pain, but the ability to produce energy from the chakra and essence, as well as heal and give boons to the world around.

Honshitsu Arts: Ma Dibaido
(True Nature/Essence Arts: True Divide)

Water is special in that it is a polar molecule, one that is positive on one side and negative on the other. This is why water droplets attract one another and join together seamlessly, because there is always an opening in the molecules that can be connected to. This bond is very weak, however, as one can easily split the droplets back apart with enough force or chakra. This same principle can be applies to the essence drawn from objects via the Honshitsu jutsu. While the practitioner may pull the essence out of a single object, chakra can be applied to the mass to separate its form into multiple ones without lessening the power or strength of the essence’s molded nature. This allows the Honshitsu artist to apply his or her jutsu techniques to multiple people or targets, just as if they would splash a group of people with a puddle of water.

Ekishin pūru
(Immersion Pool)

People are just as susceptible to the elements as objects are. Humans are made 90% of water, and take in food, which contains salts and oils, elements of fire and earth. The body itself is susceptible to chakra, as it is harnessed within the body and soul, and channeled to produce jutsu with the proper manipulation and hand signs. A Honshitsu artist can abuse this factor within them by manipulating the potential elements within themselves in order to create a constantly replenishing storage pool of chakra within themselves, without it being directly apart of their body until accessed using their own chakra network. This is essentially borrowing the potential energy of the particles within their body, drawing the essence together, and creating a “potentia” pocket to store chakra within.

Base I: Gain a Secondary CP pool. Starts at 3 CP and maxes out at 10 CP. Regenerates at 1 CP per round.

Honshitsu Kakusan
(True Nature/Essence Diffusion)

Nature’s processes are usually automatic, only triggered by a single step that leads to a complicated process. A single mixture of chemicals can bring about a violent reaction, but all the artist has to do is have the chemicals touch together and walk away. One could say that many jutsu are essentially the same. Preemptively forming the signs and speaking the words simply trigger the jutsu’s inner workings when channeled into the proper method could potentially be left alone to stir until the user needs to cut the process and launch its effective results. While this may not work for every jutsu, some jutsu benefits more from. Because Honshitsu practices are all about combining the essences of objects for a result, one could say they are the ultimate alchemical jutsu artists. While these techniques can be applied to other jutsu, the Honshitsu can simply use alchemical knowledge to preemptively prepare a jutsu, and set it to go off at the same time they channel another, looking as if they performed two jutsu at the same time.

Kihatsu-sei-jutsu
(Volatile Jutsu)

Without a proper control and form, chakra has no purpose when brought to fruition outside of the system. It just flows and floats and fades away, acting like a giant beacon to anyone good at detecting such. This is similar to anything that has a warning to explode and fade away, evaporating and leaving no trace. This, obviously, isn’t what most people want, but a trained and experienced jutsu artist could easily abuse this factor in their jutsu by purposely bringing the chakra to its absolute boiling point when using an offensive jutsu. Just like a chemical reaction, a volatile reaction can cause massive problems for the chemist, from explosions to even breaking the container in which the chemicals are held. For the artist, the smallest trigger of chakra from a jutsu can set off a chain of energy within the air, resulting in the jutsu violently exploding with more hazard than normal and causing more harm to the target whom is at its end.

Shin no seishitsu no kenkyū
(True Properties Study)

Manipulating the true nature and properties of objects may sound like a simple task, but it takes years of dedication and study about how the essence of objects works and can be separated. Given the delicate nature of separating the very properties and biological processes of an object is, it’s no wonder why Honshitsu artists study everything they can about the medical field. From every single aspect of the human body to the very reason why medicine herbs do what they do, a Honshitsu artists must fully understand these ideals before they even attempt using the true properties of an object to heal someone. The slightest mistake could change that person for the rest of their lives if the wrong property or true nature is taken. Instead of taking the property of numbing, the property of poison could be taken instead, and what should have been a simple cut to heal is now turning the very skin they wanted to heal into a curse. This is why every Honshitsu artist within …what was once a clan… must spend years studying the medical disciplines of ninjutsu. If they refused, they were put to death for being a danger to the rest of the world, even if accidentally.

Bubble

A single hand seal and the user uses their saliva as a water source to spit out a single bubble at high velocities that snaps violently on impact. Popular with younger brothers on older sisters.

Mabayui bakari no suna
(Blinding Sands)

The jutsu user waves the hand signs of sand, earth, and wind before placing his or her hands upon the ground. Chakra is released into the ground that grabs and controls any sand if possible, and flings it at a target’s eyes to momentarily blind them. This isn’t a perfect blinding as it only lasts a short term, but this can cause the target’s physical strikes and attacks to slip ever so slightly off course, avoiding vitals and thus causing less potential harm if the blows strike.

Earth style: Pit

Going into the Doton style stance user would form three different seals before placing hand onto the ground, causing it to lower under or next to the user over slow course of time.

Shirube hikari
(Guiding Light)

The jutsu user weaves the hands signs of light, guidance, and passage before placing his or her hands clasped together in a praying motion, as if asking the sun and stars permission to bend their rays of light. Chakra is released into the air gathering the energy in the air and flashing it like a giant strobe light. This ability attempts to break any illusions the same way that strobe lights are used to get people accustomed to the dark, by shocking the cornea and mind and refreshing the view of the world around them. Sadly this is only good in range for the actual user, rather than helping others adjust to the world around them, but with some additional training…

Hābubāmu
(Herbal Balm)

Honshitsu artists take the essence of objects and manipulates them in order to achieve a means. The most basic manipulation of this kind of aspect can be seen with herbal healing. The Honshitsu artist directs and fills medical herbs with jutsu before forming the hand signs that represent those herbs. The jutsu pulls the essence out of the herbs, containing all of the medical properties of those herbs. This, of course, erases the herb’s usefulness as their properties are now gone. The artist then infuses the herbal essence into either mud or water and can either launch or lather it onto the wound. The properties of the chakra and essence allows the balm to be drawn into the body through the pores, inducing a natural, quick healing effect to the wounded.

Chokusetsu no kigai
(Direct Harm)

Honshitsu artists take the essence of objects and manipulates them in order to achieve a means. To defend themselves, or to purposely cause injury, the artist directs and fills harmful objects or hazards with their chakra. The hazard could be anything, from a rock, to a blade, or even fire. The jutsu then performs the hand signs that represent the objects and pulls the essence of that object out. The essence contains the raw potential of harm and pain that the object or hazard can inflict upon a person. In this particular jutsu, it doesn’t contain anything other than the pure direct harm. The artist then shapes it into whatever shape they desire, and uses chakra to guide or slam the essence into the target, injecting their body with pure pain.

Saibō chūnyū
(Cell Infusion)

Honshitsu artists take the essence of objects and manipulates them in order to achieve a means. The body itself has powerful regeneration and healing abilities through cell dividing, but it is slow and not worthy to be considered a technique in the heat of battle. This very biological ability, however, can be exploited and sped up using Honshitsu jutsu. If the essence of a particular cell, say a skin cell on the arm is drawn out to pull the essence of that natural regeneration out, it can be imbued with chakra in order to speed up the natural process. The cell is then altered and placed on an injured person’s arm, and the cell naturally becomes one with their body, adapting to their person and spreading and healing like wildfire. The technique essentially takes the cell’s natural, biological process of mitosis and brings it to the next level by accelerating its potential.

A babe, born under the harvest moon on the Ides of march, reborn under the traitorous blood of a slain brother, covered by the skin of a mother wolf, with the words of the fallen king echoing in the air around.  They say black magics were a thing of legend, but the Clan Burakkusukāfu (Black Scarf) leader, Jianyu Liang, knew better in this world of manuscripts and hand signs.  Gathering his intelligence and the history of his clan, he knew of such a babe being born upon the date reconciled in the manuscripts of their fallen king, and sought after it in the utmost deriving manner. Gathering his clan in the dead of night, he traveled to the northwest battalion headquarters southwest of (small city name yet to be determined) with his numbers, and assaulted the city with only one goal: to steal the babe. During the siege, a woman was giving birth to the very same babe the black scarves leader wanted. The nurses frantically tried to help the troubled and pained mother during her labor, despite the sounds of metal clanging and the cries and groans of the fighting outside of the medical ward. Her husband, a guard of the town defense, protected the entrance well as the babe was soon to be born. With a cry of pain, and the sound of a babe’s wail, she was born, and the doctor quickly applies the medical procedures to separate the mother and child, and soon after escape through a back secret exit only used with emergencies, where a carriage awaited them.  The effort would prove to be a success, were that these raiders were untrained, but the black scarves had their intelligence of the buildings from a spy, and the caravan found themselves blocked by a score of soldiers ready to pounce upon their target. A ninja does not undergo a mission without knowledge, after all. The guards rushed to defend the waning mother, her babe, and the civilians, but were outmatched by the clan’s strange techniques and jutsu, the soldiers falling as it seemed the very land around them took hatred of them. As soon as they came, the Black Scarves left with their prize…

The babe was given the name Yue Liang before the event ... and was given new life under the ritual of the prescripts.  She grew up, seeing Jianyu as a father, never knowing what actually happened within the past, the only recollection of such events being her unusual skin color and the strange marks on her body. She learned how to control her chakra, use the terrain to her advantage, survival in the wilderness, no matter the location. She was given lessons upon the weapon of choice, though she refused the majority of them. Jianyu took this as the true sign that the ritual had worked, as their clan need not physical weapons.  Years passed as her skills grew, eventually becoming one of the clan’s most powerful warriors, as Jianyu had hoped. His dream to having the most cunning and powerful warrior was seemingly coming true to his liking... but the thing about powerful jutsu rituals is that they are unpredictable. Like all clans, there is a manuscript of history, of all the deeds and accomplishments and goals the clan has surmised since its recollection, and Yue was forbidden to look at it… but like all young girls, their curiosity gets to the better of them, and using the cover of the dead of night snuck a look over, and discovered her true past.  The next thing she can remember is waking up, in a clan full of slain dead bodies, and their blood all over her clothing, her hands dripping from the kills she somehow inflicted. Screaming in dismay, she ripped off her clothing, replacing it with a spare robes in the armory, and ran. All powerful jutsu have side effects…

Years passed as she struggled to stay away from people, fearing that whatever caused her to kill her clan would surmise the same fate to whomever she would travel or live with, though eventually she would have to face another person sooner or later. An old ninja master crossed her path upon the road, and instantly recognized the mark on her forehead. He knocked the girl out immediately with a powerful jutsu to the neck, binding her memories to hide that empty and distraught look upon her face. She needed a new beginning, and so she was brought to the village hidden in the leaves. Upon coming to, she would only remember her name, but nothing more. It was for the best, as without control and knowledge, her new-found bloodline, or curse as some may call it, would come out once again without her control. Seeing this as the only way, the decision was made and she was left on the outskirts of the city to be found with nothing but fresh clothing and a simple training weapon, hoping she would never have to use it again. How wrong he was. She was found, rather easily, by a young ninja in training, a girl whom would become her guardian and be raised along-side her as a possible resident of the leaf.

And so… Her story begins, she trains in the academy with the one whom found her in hopes to become a ninja, and someday gain access to the means of her past, no matter how…gruesome it may be.
