Hojo Tsukiyo Micaiah
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.:: Clan / Bloodline / Special History ::.
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteSky
Name: Hojo Sora (deceased)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light & ?
Other: Little is known of Lord Sora as his time was
many generations ago, even before the first great ninja war.
Within the clan, he was the first known to be able to properly
wield his affinity for light.
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteBlue
Name: Hojo Aoi (deceased)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light, Water, Fire
Other: Yet another clansmen who's information
was lost due to the ravages of war and time, it
is said that Aoi possessed a unique style that allowed him
to use the formation of clouds in his jutsu.
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteSnow
Name: Hojo Kaede (deceased)
Status: Secondary Clan
Element(s): Light, Water, Earth
Other: Kaede is very much seen as the black sheep
in the clan line. He would eventually retire to a life
of hermitage in the cold woods of the north, remaining
there until the end of his days whilst studying something
he called rainbow chakra.
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteGrey
Name: Hojo Kaito (deceased)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light, Water
Other: Kaito was a man typical of the clan.
He would often follow rules and tradition to the
letter and fulfill all that was expected of him. Kaito
is easily one of the most forgettable light users during
the Hojo's heyday in the Land of Rain.
Hojo Tsukiyo 04_165437_3zr6
Names: Hojo Hatake (left, deceased); Hojo Hayate (right, deceased)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light, Lightning (left); Light, Wind (right)
Other: Infamously known as "The Twins", Hatake and Hayate
were born shortly after the first great ninja war. They
would eventually lead the Hojo clan's exodus from the Land
of Rain; Hatake would lead a small portion of the clan with
him to the Country of Fire and Hayate would bring the majority
of the family with him to the Country of Wind. A few clansmen
stayed behind in the Land of Rain, and have seemingly disappeared
due to the war-torn nature of the country.
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteLightning
Name: Hojo Yuuma (missing/deceased/?)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light, Lightning
Other: Son of Hatake, Yuuma was recognized as
a genius. Unfortunately because of his background
and his clan name and the history therein, he resigned
himself to a secluded life just outside of Konohagakure
as he was repeatedly denied admittance into the Leaf's
ninja ranks. He, as well as the rest of the Hojo clan with
him, had seemingly disappeared without a trace soon after.
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteRedBird
Name: Hojo Ren (deceased)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light, Fire, Earth
Other: Father of Haruki and his many siblings, Ren
was often the comic in the groups he found himself
in. A sand nin of considerable talent, he would often
forgo his use of light jutsu in favor of his elemental
skills... one of which was the Fuji Eruption Technique
(the creation of a mound of earth and the release of
magma/lava and other gaseous and heated materials from within).
Young Yamato
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteGreen
Name: Hojo Yamato (Deceased)
Status: Primary Clan
Element(s): Light, Earth, Wind
Other: Younger brother of Hayate, Yamato has
found his niche as the family's mentor and father
figure. The younger generations affectionately call
him Jiji (grandfather). Recently, he has been searching
in Konohagakure for his separated clansmen in an attempt
to reunify the group. He is the current patriarch and
head of the Clan.
Current Yamato
Hojo Tsukiyo WhiteGramp
White Light, and also a prodigy within the Clan, contains
a Doukugan in his left eye socket.
.:: PAST ::.
The Birth
Searing heat washed over the massive Village, a breeze fluttering through the sky, though it offered no coolness to it’s touch, only lengthening the feeling of scorched skin. This was Sunagakure, the Village Hidden in the Sand, one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries. Shadows scurried along the outer rims of the Village as Shinobi made their way in and out through the throng of people and those glorified gates with their intricate features, citizens dressed in lighter clothing and even some with heavy jackets and baggy pants, though surprisingly no perspiration flooded from the pours of their skin. The Shinobi, however, were diverse in their clothing, ranging from something many of the citizens might be wearing to dressing themselves in wraps and draping shoufas around their heads to keep the sun from reaching their eyes and obstructing their view. They, like the citizens, contained skin that was either kissed gently by the sun or kissed with passion as well there was no sweat that trailed along their showing skin. A single Shinobi in particular was just returning from a Mission out on the forefront, a simple Mission really, just an escort to their allies in Konohagakure, and to see that they were escorted back safely. Returning with his team of three, Sairento moved fluidly through the throng of people at a break-neck pace, looking towards his Clans Compound, his eyes slithering from a light silver to a light violet, causing one of his fellow members to giggle knowingly. His eyes turned on her as they slid from their violet color to that of a playful green while his mouth began to work incredulously.
“Is there something that’s funny, Shirei?” He asked in that joking manner, knowing full well what had gone through her mind. He was wanting to get home, to see his wife and be ready for the child to come, it was nearing time to finally see the birth of his first child and being a father made his skin crawl with exictement.
“It’s just that I’ve never seen anyone so interested in meeting with the Kazekage after a Mission to give their report,” She giggled, her lips flashing him a teasing smile as she knew that was not really what he was so jumpy about. “It would do you some good to slow down before you run into someone and have to slow us down by picking up whatever you make them drop.”
“I think it would do you both well to stop playfully bickering with one another,” An older gentleman who was with them stated. He wasn’t really too old, but his features gave off a “regal” outlook on him. His hair lined with slivers of grey while his face showed wrinkles from his own stress, though most of the time Shirei and Sairento believed those wrinkles to be their fault seeing as he always seemed to gain a little more after every Mission they would have together. “If you keep it up, people will begin to wonder if the two of you should marry as well.” His lips cracked into a cheeky grin as he watched the two younger Shinobi’s mouths clamp shut and their expressions whipping into pure shock while their eyes looked like they might have been close to bulging from their sockets.
From there the group went on in mostly silence, save for the slight, but careful mutterings of Shirei. Her forked tongue would always get them in trouble in some way, and even if he was related to the Kazekage by marriage and by Clan, he didn’t get to avoid harsh punishment. The older man in their group, many called him Ryuk though his true name is unknown to nearly three quarters of Sunagakure, managed to always slip away before Shirei opened her mouth to express her “feelings.” He was pretty good at reading people, though I suppose that was part of the job when you were an ANBU. It still baffled him that such an old man could live such a dangerous lifestyle and yet the two of Them somehow managed to give him his aged appearance. Stepping up the wayward steps to the Kazekage’s building, Ryuk opened the doors with no haste in his bones. He knew what it meant to enter such a prestigious place, and liked to make it known to the two others whenever he could. As they strolled down the halls, two other Shinobi, twins to be in fact with a birthmark cut lining down over their eye. One brother had it down over his left eye while the other shared a similar mark but it drew down over his right eye. An interesting pair these two, they were almost like the tigers Lady Kazekage housed, only Human and probably less of a threat than the two animals were.
“Lady Kazekage has been awaiting your arrival, however, she has asked that only two of you see her at this moment in time,” The twin with the scar over his left eye announced, receiving a small arc in an eyebrow of each of the three standing before him. “I was told this because it would seem your beloved wife is currently in the Hospital, she went into labor not too long ago.” The man nodded once to Sairento though at first his words didn’t register at all.
“Is she sure though? I will put duty before my wife if I must,” He muttered in a near silent whisper to himself after those words finished sliding free from his lips. He couldn’t seriously allow his wife to have this child without him by her bedside. “Gomenesai for such a rude statement. I will do as Lady Kazekage wishes and be with my wife.” He turned on his heels moving quickly for the door before words began to flow from behind him.
“She says you may have up to three hours with your wife before she plans to send for you to meet with her to get the same briefing as these two will receive,” He knew it was not the twin that had spoken first, their pitches were just a hair off from one another and he had been getting used to them more and more over the past fifteen years, but even moreso as he had been getting more Missions in the past seven years. Sairento turned to give them both a stern nod of understanding before he dashed out the door, his feet moving quickly and his eyes racing about the throng of people, making sure not to bump into any of them. As he moved, his eyes couldn’t seem to find just where they wanted to reside. They flickered from a light amber to light blue, then shifted towards a light violet in his love for his family followed by a light silver while he tried to focus on what was going on ahead of him before sliding back to a light violet then light amber and his emotions just raced, and those emotions were reflected by the constant flow and change in his eyes.
Arriving at the Sunagakure Hospital, Sairento burst through the doors, giving light breaths from his parted lips and small nods towards the Nurses who stepped by him. Their eyes would level on him and return the courtesy, but they could spare no time as they quickly continued on their way around the multitude of hallways. One Nurse in particular stopped him with simply the extension of her arm and placing her palm against his head.
“When one rushes, one will cause a ruckus,” She muttered softly to him, holding a wood paneled clipboard under her free arm. Her eyes were a deep auburn and her facial features placed her no older than he, but probably no younger either. “I can only guess that you are the future father-to-be. Please follow me.” She stated it so quickly and calmly that it took him a moment to react while she was already striding off down the hall she had just appeared from. Regaining his momentum, he trailed on after her, almost like a kicked puppy, but moved with just a little less grace than she did. If there was one thing he knew about Nurses, and women in general it was not to cross them for the better of your lifetime. Rounding the corner he found her waiting impatiently by a wooden door frame, the door opened and harsh breaths mixed with tight screams came from inside. “She is inside, please enter quickly now. I don’t feel like disturbing the rest of the patients.” Her eyes narrowed on him and he hopped forward and turned into the room on his heels as she shut the door behind them. Within the room, his eyes immediately alighted in a light violet as they landed on his beloved wife; even in such a scene as child birth she was still of such beauty. White-Silver hair that normally flowed with the breeze as though it were fine silk was matted down against the back of her neck and dangled freely along the Hospital gown from sweat. His light violet eyes turned a dark yellow as he caught a glimpse of her own eyes, flickering between a dull red and a dull amber. She was suffering from this immensely, but she was also happy at the birth of her first child. Her face was scrunched, but he could make out her beauty nonetheless, and it was that that made her the daughter of Yamato. At that his eyes immediately glanced around, shifting to a light amber as they fell on the old man, though he simply received a calm nod of the man’s head before his eyes were drawn back to the Doctor and his wife.
“Is there anything you’d like me to do doctor?” The question rolled off his tongue before he could even stop it. This wasn’t the time to be interrupting such a procedure, but he felt so stupid and helpless standing there just watching all of this.
“I would suggest comforting your wife with your words and presence. Otherwise please keep yourself as quiet as possible, try making your words like hushed whispers to her as if it were a regular evening between the two of you,” His words were rather rushed as he moved back and forth, calling for Nurses to gather water and wipe some sweat from the woman’s face as well as his own. “Please push Seirou, and make sure to take in deep breaths before doing so.” The voice muddled out to a calm tone as he gave the woman a smile before his eyes glanced back down beneath the sheets. Sairento rushed to his wife’s bedside, or as rushed as he could be trying to take long strides over to her without running. He entwined his hand with his wife’s, caressing her soft skin with the back of his free hand and giving her a warming smile.
“It’s almost there my dear, soon we’ll have our first born. I’m sure whether it be male or female it will take after your beauty,” His voice rang softly as it glistened over her ear and he received the weakest smile he’d ever seen her make before she squeezed his hand roughly and pushed. Her eyes squinted closed as she breathed out jaggedly and pushed once more, her lips parting to let out a scream of pain, though Nurses quickly rushed to try and help in any way possible while the Doctor himself also seemed to be using Medical Ninjutsu to help lessen whatever may be ailing her. He could do nothing more but give his wife sympathetic words and worry constantly about her condition and that of the coming child.
Yamato’s eyes fell heavily on his daughter and her husband, the two seemed a perfect match, or to him they had better be for the man’s sake. He slid a hand through some of his greying hair and let his lips curl into a small smile at the first sights of the child, though this was quickly removed to return to a set in stone calm expression. He was known as “grandfather” by many of the newer Hojo generation, and to this one it would be no different except that he truly was tied in lineage to it. With the arriving of the child he gave a simple nod to a few of the Nurses and murmured “Give the Doctor my thanks when he is finished,” before he moved out of the enclosed room and down the Hospital halls with careful steps to not seem as though he was moving too slow or too hastily. His lips parted into a small sigh as he moved back towards the Compound that housed many of the family members and parted through them, giving each a humble nod and some an elegant greeting. Finally entering through an ornate doorway, he nodded his head to the children inside and closed the door behind him to begin his teaching of the newer generation.
Back in the Hospital, the Doctor had finished retrieving the baby and handed the infant off to one of his Nurses so that he may begin working on healing the woman before him. Cries echoed off the walls as the infants lips lay open to release the wails of wakefulness. The Nurse wrapped the baby in a towel quickly before handing it over to Seirou, a smile touching both of their lips as the child was taken into it’s mothers arms. “Here’s your new baby girl,” The Nurse stated before moving away from the bed. It’s cries didn’t cease entirely, but it became more of a quiet whine than anything else. The child rested against her mother, eyes slipped tightly closed as it’s arms and legs kicked around weakly, causing the Doctor to purse his lips a moment before they parted to speak. He eyed the frail child considerably a moment before shaking his head.
“I would suggest not making her do too much. Everything seems fine, however, I am under the impression it may be weak bodied in some way, or will develop an inability for something. It is rather unsurprising though, considering I have always heard the Hojos to be more graceful than mountain breaking brutes.” The man eyed the parents quietly before he let out a sigh and made his way to the washstand, the wall muffling most of his booming voice as he continued on, “The child and mother will have to stay here for a while, so I’d suggest visitations whether by the father or some member of the Clan. I will help the new mother with any complications she might be enduring, if there are any, and we will take good care of them both.” He finished drying his hands as he turned back towards them.
“Honey, what would you like to name her?” Sairento asked curiously, though a smile threaded along his lips and his eyes sparked into a shade of light violet.
“How does Tsukiyo sound?” She smiled down at the baby as it squeaked around the name, causing both Seirou and Sairento to laugh lightly and they nodded towards one another. “I suppose we’ll go with Tsukiyo then.” Her light violet eyes trailed towards her husband after he gently placed a kiss against her cheek. “Please let tou-san know its name and gender, I will have to wait here.” Releasing a subtle sigh she fell back against the cushioned pillows and cradled the newborn in her arms.
“Hai, I will do that right away,” He gave her one last kiss on the forehead before slipping out the door and down along the hallway, his feet moving in a controlled fast-walk.
Five Years
Years would come to pass for the young family, rooms would change and buildings would be extended in the makings of a new age for the Hojos. The family would meet plentiful births and the Kokoro Toride would continue it’s long stem through their generations, each one with those beautiful eyes that shifted at random moments, whenever the heart desired to flourish. The three of them worked tightly together, mother and father gradually teaching their daughter to speak in syllables, and walk to wherever she pleases. They’d also have some moments that were not so pleasant, like when the child fell ill, though that was a simple sickness that also passed with time. As the shades of night began to fall a few days before that fateful day, a messenger entered the room and spoke to the little girl’s parents. Her head tilted upwards, unable to understand much of what was being said, so she watched silently with her light green eyes.
“Hai...” She could make out bits of it, but they were scattered to her ears, words so quickly spoken she couldn’t catch them, or so complicated that she hadn’t comprehended them yet.
“I need...this...out...safe...” It was like he had recorded it in a way. Her lips parted and she let out a playful giggle, though it gave her a rather reverse effect than what she had expected. The Shinobi’s eyes darted right towards her and narrowed down on her like he would overwhelm her in seconds. Considering her age, of course, that wouldn’t be too difficult had her parents not been there.
“You would do well not to stare at her in that fashion,” Her mother spoke in a calm, song-like tone, her white/silver hair flowing down along her back as a smile crept along her lips. “She is still so young, how about we move this into another room? I’ll send to see if someone would be willing to watch her or take her to be with her grandfather for the evening.” She gracefully moved towards the door and poked her head out of the room before slipping out, leaving the remaining three to look around at one another.
“I hope this won’t take long, this is rather important,” The man sighed, his eyes narrowing on the door and his foot beginning to tap impatiently. It didn’t take long before Seirou strolled back into the room, with another man on her heels. His eyes were a light silver, and his lips pursed together as he knelt down on one knee to try and get closer to the young girl.
“Go ahead dear, he’s going to take you to your Ojii-chan for the evening and possibly a few days, but you’ll be well taken care of.” Her mothers voice was so heavenly, that it was like every word whisked her forward towards the other Hojo member rather than her own two feet. The man quickly wrapped his arm around her tiny body and scooped her up against his chest as he stood erect once more.
“I will take good care of her,” Were the last words from his mouth before they left the room. A smile ran across Tsuki’s lips as her parents called out their subtle “I love yous” before the door closed behind her. The man carrying her was gentle and rocked her from time to time, though it would never be the same. Her father was toned and although not one of the most muscular people, she felt safe in his “strong” arms, and her mother’s loving touch could never be replaced. Everyone was unaware of the coming future, one that she wishes she could have changed.
Finally they arrived at the wooden door frame to her grandfather’s room. It wasn’t anything fancy or ornate like most of the important rooms throughout the Compound, but it did have it’s beauty and sheen to it. The color was like it was never used, so sleek and made from the bark of trees that did not grow in the Country of Wind. Jewelry dangled down from the arch and twisted around one another like tinsel. The man knocked lightly against the door and waited patiently for the answer. “Come in,” came the muffled voice of an elder man. With the light twist of his wrist the door handle twisted and he swung the door open, his eyes glancing around to find the elder sitting in a high backed chair carved with ornate drawings.
“Do you have business here?” The elderly man mumbled as he rose up from his chair, his eyes a light silver as they glided over to settle on the two in the doorway.
“I was sent here by your daughter, Ojii-chan. She and her husband are receiving their orders for a new Mission and wished for me to bring your granddaughter here to you.” His voice was subtle and calm as he bowed his head and placed the girl down on her feet. With a small nod from Yamato the man backed out and closed the door behind him, leaving the little girl and her grandfather alone in the same room. Her nose twitched at the smell, a dry one that freed her nostrils as she breathed in deeply. It was ink, which meant her grandfather must’ve been writing at the time. Her lips curled into a smile and her eyes shifted into a light violet as she moved forward along the smooth stone.
“Ojii-chan! Will you read me your story?” She giggled happily as she wrapped her arms around his leg and tilted her head to the side. “It’s been so long since you last did.” She frowned for a moment, though her eyes just couldn’t seem to completely waver away from their current color. The elderly man gave a soft sigh, but he managed a light chuckle as he reached down and picked her up in his arms, moving over to his chair and settling down in it once more. He placed her down on one of his knees and pulled forward towards the desk. The desk was a fine auburn color, intricate patterns marked it with age, but there were no signs of wither or decay. This man took great care of not only his family, but even their, and his own, living environment.
“Once upon a time there was a young girl, little older than yourself...” His words trailed on, to ones she could sometimes hardly understand, but his soothing voice was the main reason she loved his stories. He was everyones grandfather, even if they were not directly related like she may be, and she understood why. Curling up against him she let her eyelids drape down over her eyes and slowly fell into a deep slumber, the last bit of the evening being a light chuckle as the man noticed her drifting off. When she awoke the next morning, she was to find out that she would be staying with her grandfather for a few days while her parents were away, having slipped off far earlier in the morning, before the sun even caressed inches of the sky.
Days passed slowly as she stayed with her grandfather; they would listen to one another tell stories, and would take leisurely walks around the Compound and sometimes out as far as the oasis to let her play in the water. Finally, on the day her parents were supposed to return, Yamato looked down at her and gave her a warm smile, “How would you like to show your parents something new when they return from their Mission?” He asked.
“Hai! I’ll learn new things to show Tou-san and Kaa-san!” She giggled happily as she scurried around the room, acting as though she was gathering things to prepare for the coming lesson. Her grandfather looked down at her moving around and chuckled heartily. He had never seen her so hyperactive or excited before. That was a trait she seemed to have gained from his daughter. A smile touched his elderly lips as he let his mind drift back to the young girl who used to cling to the back of his leg whenever they moved anywhere or he had to take her along with him for important family meetings. That was many years ago though, twenty years ago now to be exact. His mind snapped back as a light thud was heard and he looked down, his lips parting to let out a bellowing chuckle. She had been in such a rush that she went running into him and fell back on her rear. Looking up at her grandfather and his joyful laughter, her lips slipped from each other and she giggled childishly until she was lifted up onto her feet.
“Alright, so what we’re going to work on is one of our special secrets,” He began, looking down to her before moving back to sit down on his ornate chair. “You will become like the sun or a star, a light of hope that washes away the night. Shine so that your friends and family know there is a place of hope and love for them to run to.” He gave her a wide smile as suddenly, he began to radiate with light. His room, laced with little light became brighter than she had ever seen. She felt wrapped in a warmth from the white light that emitted from around him, a sense of longing or understanding that radiated deep into her heart. It soothed over her emotions in ways near as well as anything her mother and father could have ever done, however, near as well was not as good as the real thing. As the glow from around him faded, she glanced up at him and giggled happily. “What you want to do is draw in from around you. This will mostly be your chakra, but feel like you are the sun or stars, that guiding light that shines through the darkness of the night.” His voice was soft, and his smile weakened a bit while he seemed to lose himself in thought, a perfect chance to try it out. It was interesting though, he had done it so easily and it was like he barely had to think about it for it to become true. Her eyelids slid downwards as she began to think of herself like a star for the first time, chakra mulling through her body and slithering along the surface of her skin, but it was snapped a bit too early and sent her skidding back on her butt.
“Gomenesai Ojii-chan!” She cried out once she stopped. Her eyes began tearing up as he picked her up and hugged her comfortingly. “I don’t know what happened, you made it look so easy,” She sniffled loudly before burying her head into his shoulder until the tears had faded.
“There, there child, all will be fine. You did well for your first time and I even got to see a little spark from you. You will get it next time, for sure.” He remained calm, his eyes were weak as they settled down on her. A light thumping was heard from the doorway and he turned to eye the wooden framing carefully. “Come in.” He shouted lightly before setting Tsukiyo down on the bed in the corner of the room. The door clacked open and a woman of great beauty walked into the room, her face a mask of calm, but something seemed off, something in her heart, in her eyes. Her eyes held a dull blue color, and immediately Yamato was back on his feet, moving over to the woman with haste. “What is it Lady Kazekage? You have not graced me in this way by visiting my quarters in quite some time. About twenty-two years to be exact.” Her expression did not change at all even with his words, she simply asked him out into the hall where mumbling began to commence once the door closed behind them. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she moved forward to the door, placing her ear against it and listening to as much as she could make out.
“Gomenesai, onii-san,” Came the heavenly voice of the woman who had strolled in earlier. The Kazekage herself within the Hojo Compound made her skin crawl lightly, but then again, the Kazekage’s eyes made her wonder. In the five years of growing up she had heard that the Kazekage was of Hojo descent, the nee-san of her grandfather to be exact. “I...was...to tell...your daughter...” Her words were cut from the door, and they were speaking in quiet whispers. She could only hear the silent, sorrowful mutterings of her grandfather. It was coming closer as the pieces began falling into place, and they finally clicked into place as Yamato spoke up.
“I will look out for her then,” His words were louder than when they spoke earlier, it was like he knew someone was listening, someone who deserved to know. “We will prepare for the funeral just like we would when we lose any other Hojo, arigato for telling me Lady Kazekage.” His words finally trailed off as they continued speaking, though it seemed like it got heated for a bit between them, one wishing to keep to customs of the Shinobi world, while the other was willing to drop her title for the conversation and spend the evening there to comfort both him and the girl. Inside, Tsukiyo stepped away from the door, her eyes twisting wildly through dull and dark yellows, to dull and dark blues, then reds, a flickering of colors as she backed up to the bed and tears streamed down her cheeks. She kept as much sounds muffled as she could, her eyelids finally draping down over her eyes as she sniffled and hugged her knees. Her lips finally parted and she mumbled softly to herself.
“Kaa-san, Tou-san,” She sniffed loudly as she laid down on the bed, chakra beginning to slither out along over her skin, wrapping her in that soothing warmth as it had when Yamato had demonstrated it to her. There was no need to focus at this point, her chakra moved with her desires, and it desired to wrap her in it’s arms, to sooth over her emotions and help her to another day. “I will be the light, to help you home, where I love you.” Her mumbles were lost as the door swung open and Yamato swept in through them, the Kazekage sighing softly before she turned to leave.
“I will have the ceremonies set up as soon as there is time, and I do plan on attending them. I am the Kazekage, but I am also a member of this Clan as well.” She gave him a stern look before her face softened and she glided out down along the hallway.
“Gomenesai, my granddaughter.” Yamato muttered quietly as he moved over to wrap the girl up in his arms and hold her close. She had cried herself to sleep, tears still streaming over the dried marks along her cute little face. Her body was still wrapped in that warming glow, the Dance of the Firefly. It would be second nature to her now, and would protect her from her newfound fear.
Thirteen Years
Eight years have passed since that evening, and on this day, the young teen made her way out towards the Oasis. She enjoyed the flowing motion of the water and how the heated breeze caressed her skin. She wore her white dress, one given to her by Yamato, the leader of the Hojo Clan. He had become the closest thing she had in her world, and has kept mostly to herself. Shy in nature, she had been enrolled into the Academy, though when it came time for testing she would always disappear. She had a hard time with her lessons and having problems opening up to her instructors she simply kept close to her grandfather. He was truly moving into his elderly years, now at sixty-five it was beginning to show in the way he moved. Always cheerful, he was teaching a new generation, specifically focused on one known as Masako, having attempted to shape him out. Her eyes drifted to a light blue as she watched the water and giggled softly to herself. The sun kissed her skin as it did with any other, but night would be coming soon, a time of which she had no care for. Warmth and a soothing of her emotions washed over her as she grasped her chakra and let it slither over her body, causing her to glow brightly in the cocoon.
“Dear it’s time to come inside, I have business to attend to so please take care of yourself and feel free to tidy up your room a bit or have dinner ready for the two of us,” The scruffy voice came from behind her and she giggled softly as she turned on her heels to face the elderly man. His hair slowly turning from it’s white to a light grey over the years and his eyes currently a light silver as they fell on her.
“Hai, Ojii-chan!” She shouted playfully as her eyes washed over into a light green and she giggled softly. “I’ll make sure to have your special dish prepared.” The only person she had ever opened up to. Even with her greataunt the Kazekage, she was next to petrified whenever she was in the room, or any other member of the Clan. She cared greatly for Yamato and did what she could to help him around his room and the Compound; it was the least she could do considering he had been raising her for this long.
“Very well, I can’t wait until then,” His nod was firm, but something about him seemed off. His voice was a little different at that point, almost like he knew something he didn’t plan on telling her. He whisked around on his feet through the sand and then made his way back into the Village, his destination unknown to her. Rising up onto her feet, she moved along through the Oasis and back towards the Compound, gliding past people who nodded their heads, and received a reserved nod in return. Finally making it to Yamato’s quarters she let out a heavy sigh of relief once the door was closed behind her. Quickly she moved about the room and began tidying up, her eyes shifting between a light blue and a light silver, her mind trying to wrap around each plan she had for the room and how to make it ready for Yamato’s return. She readied the cot that she slept on at the left corner of the room and then moved onto the only bed in the room, fluffing the pillows and fixing the sheets so that they were set neatly over the bed, covering it all in the blankets and giggled softly after the work was finished.
“I should begin preparing his meal, he always did like to eat when he got home from important meetings,” She mumbled quietly to herself and then slipped out of the room and down the hall towards the kitchen. Around her people murmured and their eyes glanced downwards in a sorrowful manner. Their eyes taking on a dark blue or yellow color, whispers floating around through the hallways of one of their own resting in the Hospital, or news that their very own White Knight was missing an eye, that their secrets had been leaked out to the public. It didn’t bother her much really, as she didn’t pay attention to what happened to other members of the Clan, so she moved along into the kitchen and began preparing the meal for her grandfather. Pans clattered as she pulled out the exact one that she was after and she giggled softly as she began putting the rest in. She was the only one in the room at the moment while everyone was off spreading the sorrowed news between one another so she didn’t mind opening up just a bit. Gathering up the rest of the supplies she moved up to the stove and began preparing the meal for Yamato. Cooking the fish and mixing the vegetables to create the makizushi. She sighed softly to herself as she moved out and around the kitchen, carefully making the meal and tossing extra ingredients in along with them. Adding spices was the fun part, as he always loved the spices even with his age. As the makizushi was finishing she moved on to making onigiri, another favorite of his and a desert for after he had finished with dinner.
Footsteps clattered from outside in the halls as cries suddenly shouted free, some in joy while others wept in sorrow. Gasps of surprise hit the echoing and clattering of the walls and made their way into the kitchen where Tsukiyo was finishing with the last onigiri. A woman poked her head into the kitchen, a woman she had seen pass not moments before, as though she had needed to double back and make sure her eyes did not fool her. For once that face of great beauty was truly marred, by tears that had once streamed down her cheeks. Her features appeared young, though being her great-aunt, that was not possibly true. The heavenly voice that left her lips was still a little shaky, and her eyes whirled through a multitude of colors. “You are Tsukiyo, hai?” She asked curiously, though before giving her a chance to answer the woman strolled in.
“Hai, I am lady...Kazekage,” Tsuki’s voice lowered into a reserved comment, her head bowing politely as the woman made her way through the door. Before she could react, the woman’s arms clasped around her and pulled her into a warming hug. The light of Dance of the Firefly enveloped Tsukiyo before she could even speak and the woman suddenly whispered lightly into her ear.
“We will need to go to Yamato-sama’s room together dear,” She sighed softly as she moved away from the girl and her eyelids feel quickly and pressed together. “He will not be returning tonight, and never again will he use it.” Her lips pursed tightly a moment as she tugged Tsukiyo along after her. The girl couldn’t move or even struggle, the onigiri dropped to the floor and she was easily brought along behind the Kazekage. As they stopped in front of Yamato’s door, she finally snapped, nearly dropping to her knees if it wasn’t for the Kazekage to grab her. Even the warmth of Dance of the Firefly couldn’t stop her at this point, she was a mess. First her parents were stolen from her by the life of a Shinobi, now for whatever reason, the only person she had grown used to was taken as well. Slipping free of Yuna she opened the door and ran straight to Yamato’s bed where she laid down just as she had eight years ago and cried softly to herself. Yuna sighed at the door and began moving through the room, studying each inch of it before leaving finally. “Please sleep peacefully dear, there will always be tomorrow.”
Tomorrow was no kinder than the day before. She sat there as the funeral session began for Yamato, the only thing soothing her was the glow that wrapped it’s arms around her and the feeling that came to her from being close to the Oasis. The ceremony commenced with a speech from the Kazekage herself, as she spoke not only of a brother she had long grown up with, but a man that had helped raise and shape the Hojo Clan into Sunagakure and give them their roots into the civil and political life that let them all feel welcome. Not only Hojo were gathered here for this funeral, but those that were had eyes of a dark or dull blue, the pain and sorrow of loss. Her hands folded in her lap, Tsukiyo sat in the very back and watched the procession silently. Her eyes shifting between multiple colors as her feelings raced, but her shy and timid nature never let her speak to anyone except in quiet mumbles, and that was how it was for her.
In the following months to come, Tsukiyo kept to herself and mostly tidied up her grandfather’s room, now turned into her quarters with his passing. The newfound spark raged inside of her and pulled at her, the light of Dance of the Firefly finally clutching around her as she made the subtle decision. Come the rise of the sun the next morning, she would make her way from her room and off to the Academy to apply herself. She would become the beacon of light that welcomed both old and new into the Village and she would do what she could to keep everyone safe. Her shy nature was a draw-back, but even shy it didn’t mean that she couldn’t do what she know she had to, what her grandfather and her parents had raised and shaped into the very mold that made her.
Hojo Clan jutsu are best executed as supplementary jutsu to a team effort as a good number of them are made to prolong a battle. It has been said in the past that a Hojo alone is easy prey that will tire itself out. A team with a Hojo or better yet a team of Hojos, is a damned and deadly nuisance.
Kokoro Toride: Members of the clan who possess the bloodline all possess the same reflective eye that takes on the dominant colour of their environment; it has a mirror like shine.
The bloodline is a passive dojutsu. The user cannot control it, but more it is an automatic defence. When an oppononent uses their own dojutsu, the Kokoro Toride reacts by taking on the appearance of the dojutsu being use against them. At lower ranks, this ability simply confuses an opponent... giving the Hojo some extra time before the actual dojutsu is used against them. At higher ranks, the Kokoro Toride can actually cancel out an opponent's dojutsu.
[Medium Bloodline] + 10 CP
[Light-Affinity] Hojo Automatically gain the Light Elemental Affinity. + 1 to Light Jutsu Rolls when reaching level 25.
[Hojo Discipline] Hojo are trained in Ninjutsu at a young age, capable of seeing various colors in the light spectrum, and are exceptionally skilled with their hands due to their craft as tailors.
Lvl 25+: + 1 Dex / Wis Modifiers.
Lvl 35+: + 2 Dex / Wis Modifiers
ABILITIES:
[Dojutsu: Kokoro Toride] Reflective eyes which are uncontrollable by the will of the Hojo. They work in similar function as "mood rings" capable of changing color to depict the Hojo's mood, and has an ability that activates unconsciously to visually reflect a Dojutsu and suppress it.
Lvl 15+: Wis Vs Wis, Delay the activation of a Dojutsu by 1 Round.
Lvl 25+: Wis + 1 Vs Wis, Cancel a Dojutsu Activation for 2d4 Rounds.
Lvl 35+: Wis + 2 Vs Wis, Cancel the activation of Dojutsu for the entirety of the battle. If failed User can attempt this ability as many times as needed, using up their round.
[Reflective Gaze]
RPly, Hojo are capable of using the reflections cast by their Mirror eyes to cast illusions. Its a taxing action and can't be used so often but can turn the tide of a battle.
3 Cp + Dojutsu Cost) Perform a Dojutsu as a free action, Cooldown 3 Rounds.
PvP: Wisdom Vs Wis / Int, Stun target for 1d4 Rounds or until Hit. Blockable / Dodgeable at - 4 to roll.
[Dojutsu Genjutsu: Keijigen (Light Dimension)]
PvP: Wisdom Vs Wis / Int, Target suffers - 3 to rolls for 1d4+1 Rounds. Blockable / Dodgeable at - 4 to roll.
[Dojutsu Genjutsu: Kagirinai Kurayomi (Eternal Darkness)]
PvP: Wisdom Vs Wis / Int, -3 to targets rolls for the rest of the match or until healed via Medical Ninjutsu. Blockable / Dodgeable at - 4 to roll.
[Dojutsu Genjutsu: Miraseishin (Mirror Stars)]
Rank: N/A
CP: 15
Description: The Hojo looks into the eyes of the opponent, by reflecting the image of light back to the opponent the hojo catches them in their genjutsu. When trapped, the victim finds themselves floating around the atmosphere, looking at the stars that send reflections of themselves. The mirrors sudden break as the target begins to float into them in several series, each hit burning the target's skin.
PvP: Wisdom Vs Wis / Int, Stun a target for 1d6+1 Rounds or until hit dealing 1d6 HP & CP damage per round. Blockable / Dodgeable at - 4 to roll.
Empath
Jutsu Type: Doujutsu
Rank: N/A
Description: Her eyes derive off of her own emotions, but through this she seems to have come across an ability that when she comes into skin-to-skin contact with another person, or skin-to-fur should it be an animal, her eye color will change to whatever that person may be feeling. She can see past people's attempts to hide their true emotions by masking them with fake ones, such as smiles when they're actually angered or upset in some way. Currently she is unaware how to control this ability and she gains a migraine from it's "activation" which comes from being around people who are feeling strong emotions at the time even if she hasn't made contact.
Dicefight Effects: N/A; This is an RP technique and has no Dicefighting capabilities.
Other Information: Basically for the time being, if someone is feeling strongly in some way about something her eyes may change to that color even if she hasn't made contact with them. This will take place anywhere from Academy Student-Late Genin/Early Chuunin. As time passes she'll begin to better understand the ability and learn to control it so it doesn't happen randomly and only upon skin-to-skin contact. Should she end up touching too many people at the same time, say three or four at once, she would most likely fall unconscious for maybe 10 minutes irl or some form of time limit on it, leaving her rather vulnerable.
Empathic Touch
Type: Empath/Medical Ninjutsu
Rank: N/A
Chakra Cost: Special (See Below)
Description: With her glove removed from her hand, Tsuki can place her hand on a person and not only read the emotion, but if it is a negative emotion she can steal it away from the target, allowing them to feel more positive and to continue on while she begins to bear the burden and live with knowing of it's existance, helping others cope with how they feel and better understanding others. She can also use this in a way to retrieve pain from a target and pull it upon her own body and in turn personally heal the target from her own body. This can also be done in a way to transfer energy through one another, though it can easily be weakening upon herself in battle should she be a main target.
Dicefight:
RP - This allows Tsuki to steal away a persons sadness, pain, discomfort and push it upon herself, feeling it and therefore better understanding people of the Village.
PvP - Trading 1 hp/cp, Tsuki can heal a person for 2 hp/cp per the amount she has decided to give. This has a max healing of whatever her max heal roll would be; taking 1/10th of that, rounded down.
Example: Healing max roll of 110, so 1/10th of that is 11, rounded down is 10; so she could only sacrifice 5 hp/cp to heal 10 hp/cp for the target.
POSITION:
.: Medical Corp :.
Medical Shinobi are ninja who specialize in medical treatment and use of Medical-oriented jutsu, to heal others. Becoming a Medic-nin requires high intelligence and excellent chakra control. A Medic-nin is trained to avoid getting injured in any way, for the reason that if they are injured, then there would be nobody to heal the other members of their team. The Medical corp is the most advanced Medical Ninja in the Village, are and praised for their great skill while using Medical Jutsu. They are placed within a squad to make sure that none of the Ninja will be killed/Greatly Injured during the mission.
Bonuses:
+20 to Heal Rolls in a Medical Facility
+1d4 to Healing Jutsu in Battle
